The weeks are really flying by now and we are already in the fourth week of the season.Although the weather has been much colder than normal for this time of the year with really cold and sometimes frosty nights - the catches on the lakes have been excellent.

Two weeks to report as I have now got some good photos.

Rouge

The second week of the season found two regulars catching over thirty fish with a stunning 40lb 8oz Mirror and a cracking 71lb Cat being the stars. Three thirties were also caught.

Fabulous 40+

71lb cat it may have been 72 but for the deposit on the mat!

Ouch that must have hurt - another manic Rouge common!

The third week again saw some regulars have a fantastic week with fifty fish caught including seven thirty pounders with the biggest being 38+. Unfortunately I haven't got any of these photos yet.

Vert

Although not fished for a complete week yet Vert has produced some prodigious catches with twenty fish in a days fishing being the norm. The fish are currently up to the high twenties but there are many bigger fish in there which are still being pretty elusive.

Bleu

This lake continues to produce massive hauls of fish with twenties and thirties coming out on a daily basis. When you start to talk about the cats then this lake is something special. Every week produces at least on sixty pound cat as well as many others. Last week saw two different commons come out at 29+ but not quite the thirty mark. I was lucky to be at the lake when one of them was caught and these are pure "Bars of Gold".

These are some photos of the beauties caught last week.

The new season has now started and all is well with the lakes. In spite of cold and very changeable weather the fishing has been very good with some good pictures in this my first update of the new season.

We have had a tremendous amount of rain during March and also last week which has left the lakes very full and the water cold, only 9 to 11 degrees. Also we have had some very sharp frosts at night – pretty similar to the UK I believe.

A lot of work has gone into the lakes over the last month with Rouge being the main beneficiary. The summer house now has a hardcore swim, swim three has been opened up even more and the big dead oak in the middle of swims 1 and 2 has been removed to provide “the catfish fighting chair”

I am looking forward to meeting old friends and many new faces this year and will be providing you all with hopefully a brilliant holiday.

I have just received some excellent photos as you will see.

Rouge

Five anglers fish here and managed over thirty fish with 38, 33 and 32 being the biggest Carp, however the big Cats proved more than a match for the carp tackle with the biggest landed being 27lbs. Two of the anglers who were fishing the less favoured spots went down onto Vert for two days and had amazing success with 44 fish including two 20s.

Vert

This as you can see from above was as usual in great form. I even managed an afternoon stint with 5 fish to 22lbs. I seem to still have the knack thank goodness.
Again some excellent photos following

Bleu

Of all the three lakes I think Bleu was the star this week with 2 thirty lb carp and big cats of 80lb and 50lb as well as several big losses. The four anglers went away very happy with personal bests all round for carp and cats. This has got to be a result and over forty fish in total.

Again some excellent photos attached.
