Some Carp from Rouge and a PBs aplenty from Vert!Apologies for the lack of an update last week, i was back in the UK for a few days to celebrate a friends wedding. Now on to the fishing...!
Rouge Due to a late cancellation, Rouge was empty last week. So, with me safely out of the country John had chance to get down there and try and land a few catfish! Fishing from the double swim he managed three into their mid-thirties and lost a couple of bigger ones. Another friend fished for the Carp from behind the island and banked an impressive 10 fish to 28lbs. He was using essential baits B5 and fishing directly into the lilies.
On my return i had two nights on Rouge - fishing short 12 hour sessions i banked 3 Carp of 20lb 8oz 19lb 8oz and 18lbs and lost another bigger fish.
Vert In classic Exclusive Angling Holidays fashion, Wayne and his son Richie came to fish Papillon Vert for the second year in a row with a rack of PBs to smash...and boy did they do it! Richie's PB of 10lb was beaten in style with two 30lb catfish within the first 24 hours...top angling Richie. He went on to land Carp to 23lbs+ and ended the week with aching arms and nearly 300lbs of fish under his belt, at an average of 16lbs!
Dad Wayne also manged new PBs with a stunning 42lb Catfish on the first afternoon (talk about hitting the ground running!)and Carp to 23lbs 13oz. Throughout the week he racked up an impressive 59 fish for a total weight of 850lbs including several 30lb+ Cats and a string of 20lbs+ Carp. This brought their total weight for the week crashing through the 1000lb barrier - amazing work, well done guys!
BleuThe three anglers on Bleu returned for their second trip to the lake, and manged to break all the records they set the previous year. The highlights of the week included two stunning catfish in the 70lb and 80lb brackets, along with Carp to 26lbs. In total they banked between 40 and 50 fish, and found success using a variety of boilies and livebaits. Once again, a big cat fell to a single 20mm tiger nut boilie...maybe they're developing a sweet tooth?!
Thanks to both groups of customers for leaving the lake in great condition, and i look forward to seeing you next year!
