Some sunshine, some stormsFollowing on from the previous week's atrocious weather, we had more downpours but this time mixed with the odd thunderstorm and some lovely sunny spells. Despite all of this commotion, the fish seemed to feed well, and the improvement in fishing on Rouge continued.
Rouge Every year we look forward to Malcom's visit as he never seems to fail to catch an incredible amount of fish! This year was no exception, and although he failed to reach his target of 1000lbs of fish, he still weighed in with an impressive 832lbs.
Amongst these were 2 Carp over the 30lb mark and 13 Carp between 20lb and 30lb - brilliant stuff! Although not a huge fan of the Catfish, he still banked 18 of them, to bring his total to 45 fish.
Look forward to seeing you next time!
Vert I forgot to include Vert in last week's update so it's a bit of a double catch report today. Nick managed some superb specimens from his few days on Vert, including catfish in excess of 30lbs and several Carp over the 20lb barrier. All this was in spite of some torrential rain!
Following on from that great result, 2 lads fished a short session the following week and had 19 fish in just 48 hours, including a superb 24lb 12oz Common and a 35lb Catfish. The rest of their tally was made up of 3 singles, 10 fish between 12lb and 15lb and 3 between 15lb and 20lb. Great work in adverse weather conditions (to say the least!).
BleuHaving fished Vert the previous week, Nick moved down onto Bleu for a few days whilst juggling a family holiday as well! He managed this superb Mirror, which has come out in excess of 30lbs already this year, and was joined by John and another friend (also named Nick) for an evening. Ever the appropriate hosts, John banked a 26lb Common, whilst Nick weighed in with a 44lb Catfish!
Brilliant sport, and a pleasure to have you down. Hopefully see you next year!
