A monster catfish from Rouge!Rouge Despite having fish rolling and bubbling constantly around their baits, the two anglers on Rouge were struggling to get many pick-ups from swims 1 and 2, so a move behind the island seemed like a good idea, and boy did it pay off in style! Jason, who has previously had 80lb Cats from Bleu, banked a colossal cat that drew the scales round to 95lbs before ripping his sling! Settling at a weight of 95lb, even though the fish was probably heavier, Jay then went on to bank a 35lb Carp.
Despite these two fish, both anglers felt that the lake had gotten the better of them slightly this year, and as a result have booked up two weeks next august to enact their revenge!
Well done to Brad on his first Catfish too:
P.s. Yvonne, please buy Jason a better camera for Christmas...! :-)
BleuOur intrepid young anglers endured a foul storm and some surprisingly chilly nights to bank over 20 fish between them. Amongst a mainly Carp haul, both managed fish in excess of 20lbs and went away happy with what they had caught - though i'm sure they'll be back one day to get amongst those bigger fish :-)

Jack, with two from the week before on Rouge
Shane with two cracking fish from BleuP.s. Let these photos serve a notice to all the doubters
here - i told you my hair was cool, all the kids are doing it! ;-)
Thanks to both parties for being such great guests and both leaving the lakes spotless.

Half-time resultsWith the customers on both Rouge and Bleu staying with us for two weeks, and swapping lakes half way through, this is more of a brief update with pictures to follow next week.
Rouge The lake fished hard for the first few days of the lads holiday, but they stuck at it and were rewarded on thursday and friday with several carp into the twenties and catfish up to 40lbs+. A very well deserved result, and new PBs for both anglers.
Vert I fished Vert a couple of nights last week and totalled 10 Carp, biggest 21lb and a Catfish of 34lb 4oz. Great sport, and lots of bites!
BleuLong standing Exclusive Angling Holidays customer Jay found the going tough on Bleu with the fish seemingly not feeding at all (as on Rouge). Though things picked up considerably towards the end of the week and he banked a string of Carp and Cats to make the week worthwhile!
That's all for now, I'll be back on next week to post their final scores!

Some Carp from Rouge and a PBs aplenty from Vert!Apologies for the lack of an update last week, i was back in the UK for a few days to celebrate a friends wedding. Now on to the fishing...!
Rouge Due to a late cancellation, Rouge was empty last week. So, with me safely out of the country John had chance to get down there and try and land a few catfish! Fishing from the double swim he managed three into their mid-thirties and lost a couple of bigger ones. Another friend fished for the Carp from behind the island and banked an impressive 10 fish to 28lbs. He was using essential baits B5 and fishing directly into the lilies.
On my return i had two nights on Rouge - fishing short 12 hour sessions i banked 3 Carp of 20lb 8oz 19lb 8oz and 18lbs and lost another bigger fish.
Vert In classic Exclusive Angling Holidays fashion, Wayne and his son Richie came to fish Papillon Vert for the second year in a row with a rack of PBs to smash...and boy did they do it! Richie's PB of 10lb was beaten in style with two 30lb catfish within the first 24 hours...top angling Richie. He went on to land Carp to 23lbs+ and ended the week with aching arms and nearly 300lbs of fish under his belt, at an average of 16lbs!
Dad Wayne also manged new PBs with a stunning 42lb Catfish on the first afternoon (talk about hitting the ground running!)and Carp to 23lbs 13oz. Throughout the week he racked up an impressive 59 fish for a total weight of 850lbs including several 30lb+ Cats and a string of 20lbs+ Carp. This brought their total weight for the week crashing through the 1000lb barrier - amazing work, well done guys!
BleuThe three anglers on Bleu returned for their second trip to the lake, and manged to break all the records they set the previous year. The highlights of the week included two stunning catfish in the 70lb and 80lb brackets, along with Carp to 26lbs. In total they banked between 40 and 50 fish, and found success using a variety of boilies and livebaits. Once again, a big cat fell to a single 20mm tiger nut boilie...maybe they're developing a sweet tooth?!
Thanks to both groups of customers for leaving the lake in great condition, and i look forward to seeing you next year!
