Sunshine and great fishing! It seems that September has brought with it some great weather (at last) and really seems to have the fish revved up for some late season feeding! This week we had one part of six anglers alternating between Bleu and Rouge lakes. The results were quite spectacular...!
In total, they had 145 fish, of which roughly two thirds were Carp.
Three Carp were caught in excess of 30lbs (two from Rouge, one from Bleu)and a staggering 40 fish over the 20lb mark! Of the Catfish, the largest specimen was caught from Rouge at 71lbs, backed up by fish in the 50lb and 40lb brackets along with a host of 'small' ones under 40lb.
Rouge
26lb Common

25lb Near Leather

70lb Catfish

54lb Catfish

46lb Catfish
Bleu
30lb 8oz Mirror

22lb Common
A massive thank you to all the guys who fished this week, for looking after the fish and their surroundings superbly. Look forward to seeing you next year!

Some sunshine, some stormsFollowing on from the previous week's atrocious weather, we had more downpours but this time mixed with the odd thunderstorm and some lovely sunny spells. Despite all of this commotion, the fish seemed to feed well, and the improvement in fishing on Rouge continued.
Rouge Every year we look forward to Malcom's visit as he never seems to fail to catch an incredible amount of fish! This year was no exception, and although he failed to reach his target of 1000lbs of fish, he still weighed in with an impressive 832lbs.
Amongst these were 2 Carp over the 30lb mark and 13 Carp between 20lb and 30lb - brilliant stuff! Although not a huge fan of the Catfish, he still banked 18 of them, to bring his total to 45 fish.
Look forward to seeing you next time!
Vert I forgot to include Vert in last week's update so it's a bit of a double catch report today. Nick managed some superb specimens from his few days on Vert, including catfish in excess of 30lbs and several Carp over the 20lb barrier. All this was in spite of some torrential rain!
Following on from that great result, 2 lads fished a short session the following week and had 19 fish in just 48 hours, including a superb 24lb 12oz Common and a 35lb Catfish. The rest of their tally was made up of 3 singles, 10 fish between 12lb and 15lb and 3 between 15lb and 20lb. Great work in adverse weather conditions (to say the least!).
BleuHaving fished Vert the previous week, Nick moved down onto Bleu for a few days whilst juggling a family holiday as well! He managed this superb Mirror, which has come out in excess of 30lbs already this year, and was joined by John and another friend (also named Nick) for an evening. Ever the appropriate hosts, John banked a 26lb Common, whilst Nick weighed in with a 44lb Catfish!
Brilliant sport, and a pleasure to have you down. Hopefully see you next year!

The lakes are alive, with the sound of Delkims...Rouge 5 anglers fished Rouge this week, and despite the atrocious weather they managed to bank some superb fish, including Carp to 27lb and a whacking Catfish of over 60lbs. As ever there were plenty of both Carp and Catfish PBs thrown in. Whilst none of the REALLY big Carp came out, the number caught was much greater than we have seen in previous weeks and hopefully signals the start of a Rouge renaissance! Well done guys, for all the fish you caught and your perseverance in some atrocious weather.
BleuFriends of the guys on Rouge, the three anglers on Bleu were not to be outdone by their mates and banked some fantastic fish during their week. Ben, who some of you will recognise from last year's catch reports, got things off to a flyer with a 73lb Catfish on the first night! This was followed up by a smashing PB mirror in the mid-twenties. Brother Matt also banked a PB Carp at 21lb 8oz and a cracking Catfish of 39lbs. Betweenthe two of them, they banked a marvelous 285lbs fishing daytimes only - congratulations boys!
Of course, i couldn't not mention their Dad, who put 440lbs of fish in the bank, from just twelve captures - which as he rightly points out meant that he had all the biggies!
Thanks guys - see you on Rouge next year!
