Catch Report 30/08/08

Rouge

A big well done to the anglers on Rouge, who had fished Bleu last year and rose to the bigger challenge of Rouge this year. Over the week, 4 carp over 30lbs were caught - 3 from behind the island and one from the double swim. Not to be outdone, Wayne landed a beautiful 28lb fish from the chalet swim.

After a couple of big cats from Bleu last year, I've every confidence that the estimated 90lbs plus catfish caught from behind the island was indeed a very, very big fish - even though it bottomed their scales! From the photos we worked out it's not 'Scarface', our 113lb lake record, but a brilliant achievement, especially on 18lb line and carp gear.

The icing on the cake was another big cat, weighed at over 80lb from the chalet swim. A new PB and an unforgettable capture, especially if you consider it's captor was doubled up with back pain for most of the week!

Bleu

The lads fishing Bleu this week are here for a fortnight, so their pictures will appear next week. There's a nice one of a 90lb+ plus cat too...!
