The only carp that Exclusive Angling Holidays have purchased in the last nine years from outside sources have been to establish a completely different gene pool and minimising the risk of in-breeding. All Exclusive Angling Holidays carp and catfish have been farmed by ourselves. We specialise in particularly attractive strains of carp such as fully scaled mirrors, linear mirrors as well as commons.
Etangs des Papillons three lakes were stocked in 1993 with 321 carp between five and twenty pounds. We now have at least 150 carp from twenty to forty five pounds. We started catfish stocking in the same lakes after special areas were built to encourage breeding in 1997. Forty cats were introduced. Now spread over four lakes, the stock is around one hundred and eighty: we have verified growth rates on some of our cats over six pounds per annum.
You cannot just make a hole, fill it with water and expect your fish to be healthy and grow like unfortunately many do! Experience and expertise count for everything. Don’t settle for anything less than the best and you the angler will benefit.
